In Diablo 4, you will find there's a combat mechanic unique to big enemies, including World Bosses and story bosses, called Stagger. Not to be confused with the Sorcerer class' Stagger skill inside the Lightning tree, Staggering a World Boss including Ashava can be achieved with any class inside the Diablo 4 Open Beta and also at the launch.
This guide explains the way to go about Staggering Bosses in cheap diablo 4 items and also the effects they have got on the big bands of the Burning Hells invading Sanctuary, let's quickly not waste any longer time.
How To Stagger Bosses in Diablo 4
As you can view from the image above, there's a Stagger Bar (thin gold line) present below the bar of big bosses in this particular cave, the World Boss Ashava the Pestilent.
You see, World Bosses in cheap diablo 4 items can not be crowd-controlled, since these skills, for example, freezing or slowing them down will make the fights too easy. However, Blizzard did wish to give CC some functionality resistant to the big Diablo 4 bosses, that is where the Stagger combat system is.
Players can fill the Stagger bar (from left to right) by unleashing crowd-control skills for the boss. Once it fills up, the boss becomes Staggered. Our next part of this guide explains what it really means, including unique effect examples.
The image above showcases Ashava rolling around in its Staggered state. The Staggering effect lasts 12 seconds and uncovers the boss to your whole lot of powerful attacks from players with no ability to deal with the problem. Think of it as a stun. This 12-second period is visually represented which has a green bar as you will see from the image above.
There may also be unique Staggering effects for every single big boss in Diablo 4. Taking Ashava for instance, one blade about the front arm breaks when Staggered. It makes her weaker than the rest with the fight, lasting until death.
While you delay your opportunity to play Diablo 4, look into Game Informer's awesome vid from all of the way way back in 2019, where they faced Ashava. |
